Sarangkot is the mountain on the northern shore of Phewa Tal and being so close to Pokhara makes it an easy destination by any means of transport! Sherpa Resort is located on top of the ridge, 500m to the west of Sarangkot’s public view tower (5 minute walk).
Getting There (by transportation)
The scenic drive from Pokhara to Sarangkot begins opposite the historic Bindhyabasini Temple, just past Baglung Bus Park and takes just 30 minutes. The winding road passes through small villages and settlements scattered between pine forests and cultivated fields.
Getting There (by foot)
Follow the Lakeside road north towards Sedi and after passing Waterfront Hotel continue over the small bridge and walk straight for another 200m. Turn right up the side street (there is a small shop on the corner) and follow this road up the hill. When you have passed the Tibetan school the road gradually transforms into a footpath and then the stone steps begin. The steps lead all the way up Sarangkot, crossing a few roads on the way. When you come to the third road crossing just below the summit, turn left along this road and continue for 500m. You will see Sherpa Resort on the right side of the road. Trekking time: approx. 2-4 hours
